What is ISO 9001:2015 Certification?
The ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS) is the world’s most popular quality management standard. ISO 9001 provides a quality management framework that companies can use to ensure the quality of their products and services is consistent. This reduces the chance of product failures and recalls or service shortcomings and ensures that your customers can buy with confidence.
ISO 9001 sets out the criteria for a quality management system that can be certified to. It can be used by any organization, large or small, regardless of its field of activity.
This standard can be easily linked with the business strategy of the organization. It’s based on a number of quality management principles including a strong customer focus, the motivation and implication of top management, the process approach, risks & opportunities-based thinking and to achieve continual improvement.

ISO 9001:2015 specifies requirements for a quality management system when an organization:
a) needs to demonstrate its ability to consistently provide products and services that meet customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements, and
b) aims to enhance customer satisfaction through the effective application of the system, including processes for improvement of the system and the assurance of conformity to customer and applicable statutory and regulatory requirements.

What you need to know about ISO 9001
Checking that the system works is a vital part of ISO 9001. It is recommended that an organization performs internal audits to check how its quality management system is working. An organization may decide to invite an independent certification body to verify that it is in conformity to the standard, but there is no requirement for this. Alternatively, it might invite its clients to audit the quality system for themselves.
